Sažetak
The purpose of this article is to analyze the degree of concentration in the insurance market in the EU member states as well as to determine the impact of the length of EU membership on the degree of concentration in insurance markets of EU member states. In that sense regresssion analyses of the impact the length of EU membership on the degree of concentration were conducted separately for life and non-life insurance markets. Using the regression analysis for investigation of the influence of the length of EU membership on the level of concentration in the insurance sector in a particular country, the results reveal that there is a negative effect of the length in EU membership on market concentration in both life and non- life insurance segments, although it is more evident in non- life insurance markets.
