Sažetak
The pulmonary manifestations of non-pulmonary and systemic diseases are usually not very well known by the treating physician. Several reasons could explain this. First of all, it is a fact that a lot of these diseases are being treated by organ-specific specialists, who may not be very well acquainted with pulmonary signs and symptoms. Secondly, some of these entities are quite uncommon. Therefore, in the present book, the editor has tried to gather a compilation of Interesting pulmonary manifestations of very different disease entities, such acardiovascular, renal, gastrointestinal, hepatic, neuromuscular, connective tissue diseases, vasculitis syndromes, metabolic (obesity and malnutrition), immunodeficiencies like CVID and alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency. There are also chapters on pulmonary manifestations of AIDs, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), lymphoprolipherative disorders and hematological malignancies. In the chapters that follow the most frequent pulmonary manifestations of systemic and extra-pulmonary diseases, their clinical characteristics, etiopathogenesis, diagnostic procedures and therapy will be described. It is to hope that this information will help better cooperation between pulmonologists and physicians of various other medical specializations.
