Sažetak
The case of symetrical interdigital hyperkeratosis of hands with scrotal tongue and highly arched palate reminds us of the so-called congenital symmetrical interdigital hyperkeratosis described briefly in 1923 by Frei. Since the interdigital hyperkeratotic lesions in our case were present only on hands, it may represent an incomplete form of that dermatosis. In contradistinnction to Frei's case, the dorsal side of the distal phalanges of the 3rd and 4th fingers were also thickened. Furthermore our case was neither congenital nor absolutely symmetrical. In the available literature mentioning of this form of hyperkeratosis was been made only in the book of Cockayne, who quotes Frei's case. In the articles about disorders of keratinisation of Moncorps, Touraine, Schnyder and Klunker –to quote only the most extensive articles-the anomaly was not mentioned, nor was it described in the book by Costa. No assertion can be made about the mode of inheritance , since it was sporadic, like Frei's case. Whether the case of his aunt as well as that of his mather, with U- shaped hyperkeratotic heels, represent incomplete cases of this peculiar dermatosis , must remain without ansver. It must be emphasized that our patient had a highly arched palate and scrotal tongue. Both may be associated with disorders of keratinization.
