Sažetak
Interjections, as words or phrases that by definition are used for the expression of strong feelings or (sudden) emotions, represent a serious challenge for translators. In this work, the author, himself a radio sports commentator, chose to take a look at a list of 18 English interjection phrases that frequently appear in sports commentaries, and looked for a Croatian translational equivalent for each phrase. The fact that the SL sports (and cultures in which these sports are played) are variagated, represents a particularly interesting point. The translations (or lack of them) are followed by a comparative and contrastive crosscultural (sociolinguistic) analysis of each instance i.e. interjection.
