Sažetak
Business process management allows, by the use of information technology, to formalize, document, automate and monitor whole part of business processes in order to bring flexibility, traceability and measurement. In response to these facts, universities across the world are at various stage of incorporating business process management in their teaching offerings. However, there is still a relatively small number of universities in Croatia that offer specialized education in BPM. The aim of this paper is to determine the current state of education in business process management at the Croatian universities and to analyze the applied forms of instruction and teaching methods. The survey report presents the BPM programs of four Croatian universities, describing the BPM content covered, course structures, methods of teaching and BPM software used. The paper also provides a comparison of Croatian BPM education programs with the findings of the similar surveys conducted worldwide. The results of the survey are analyzed and summarized in a form of several proposals for BPM courses improvement. The proposal is to create a mix of classwork and e-learning by combining presence learning (lectures, exercises) with reasonable e-learning activities.
