Sažetak
In the area between the Adriatic Sea and the Southern Pannonian Basin covering mainly the northwestern and central Dinarides, seven terranes and/or units are identified which can be grouped into three megaunits:
(1) The Supradinaricum (internal Dinarides) composite terrane which includes five terranes and/or units which originated in the basinal parts of the Mesozoic Tethys;
(2) The Adriatic-Dinaridic carbonate platform (the external Dinarides), genetically related to the Tethyan southern (passive) margin;
(3) The Bania-Central Bosnia unit, located between the two above mentioned terranes, represents the southeastern extension of the Sava nappe, i.e. the Southern Alps.
