Sažetak
Washing is a complex process involving numerous physical and chemical impacts. Chemical impacts include the action of detergents at particular temperature. Detergent composition and dosage are matched to achieve proper primary and secondary washing effects. Primary effects include the ability to remove various soils from textiles. Water-soluble soils are dissolved, fats emulsified and solid insoluble soils dispersed. Chromophores of coloured soils are degraded using various oxidative bleaching agents. Environmental considerations have a considerable influence in contemporary detergent formulations. Systematic investigations of detergent components and their impact on the environment have shown that some of them, in despite of their beneficial activity in washing, are characterised by poor biodegradation, and present a considerable load on waste waters, either directly or through their interactions with other waste products in water. The aim of the study was to analyse washing performance of detergent containing environmentally favourable peracetic acid (PAA) in comparison to hydrogen peroxide (HP).
