Sažetak
This paper is about power in the production of knowledge about quality assurance in university teaching. It starts with the premise that chances of getting reforms accepted by the academic community will remain remote unless the need for a change comes from the academics themselves. Moreover, any change is in danger of collapse unless the voices from inside the system are heard. Voices and power are thus at the core of the change. In this paper power is not perceived as a reference to any instance or institution, but power of relations in a filed of analysis, production of knowledge and change ; power that does not compete with the political power of the educational establishment but rather coexists with it. This paper thus advocates a more active role of university teachers, who should be given voice to generate new knowledge and create new theories, for example a theory of quality, evaluation and self-assessment. In the paper I am offering results of a project whose objectives and outcomes were to set foundations for change in discourse on quality university teaching, and to produce a model for the academic community – a set of guidelines and documents on quality teaching, evaluation, self-assessment and academic development based on the philosophy of action research.
