Sažetak
Dental ceramics are generally used to restore damaged, diseased, or fractured teeth because of their excellent esthetics, wear resistance, chemical inertness, low thermal conductivity, and low thermal diffusivity. We have investigated the chemical stability of the dental ceramics in saliva. Samples of feldspathic ceramic (IPS Classic) on Co-Cr and Co-Cr-Mo alloys and hydrothermal ceramic (Duceragold) on the high-noble gold alloy were stored in synthetic saliva at 37 oC in plastic flask. After 7 days, 1 and 3 mounts, the sample of dental ceramics were transferred to either freshly saliva. The leachate samples were analyzed by Ion Chromatography for determination of the Na+, K+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ concentrations. The pH values of leachate samples were recorded by pH-meter and weight losses of the tested samples were also determined by analytical scales. Leachate samples were analyzed using a Metrohm 690 Ion Chromatograph with conductivity detector, and 10 ml injection loop, with Metrohm 687 IC Pump. The separation column Metrohm IC Column Metrosep Cation 1-2 was used and data aquisition was performed using a Shimadzu integrator model C-R5A Chromatopac. The mobile phase was 4 mmol/L tartaric acid/1 mmol/L dipicolinic acid dissolved in high puriti water. The method has been successfully applied to monitoring of the Na+, K+, Ca+ and Mg2+ concentration in leachate samples.
