Sažetak
Financial crisis has struck the word economy at the beginning of 2008, and spread from the United States to Europe. Europe, as the crucial subject of the world economy is experiencing the influence of word financial crisis, which is followed by recession. Due to their differences, national economies of Europe have been experiencing crisis differently. From the aspect of basic economic structure, small and medium sized enterprise and economy in general along with large companies are going through financial crisis differently. Explanation of the basic differences of crisis influences between these two main groups will be one of the goals of this paper. If we agree that thrust in its wider meaning, is an important cause of the world financial crisis it is necessary to explain how this cause appears in small and medium sized enterprise. Long term stabile development of a company is the main goal of management, especially important in times of crisis. Value oriented management sets strategic goals and evaluates them. We are going to talk about the meaning of value oriented company management and the means to determine the measurable success of management. We are also going to address the question of sensibility to influence of the financial crisis on company's management. SME is a part of the national economy but also a part of the European S&M family of economic subjects. Considering the fact that financial crisis is the main subject of this paper we will explain the basic similarities and differences of SME in Croatia under conditions of crisis and compare it with developed European economies.
