Sažetak
The interconnectedness of water and air has contributed to the PAH pollution in the marine and freshwater environments. The level of marine PAH pollution is expected to rise concurrently with the worldwide rapid development. PAHs bioaccumulate in aquatic organisms, disrupting cellular and biochemical functions by binding with DNA and proteins. The principle of biomembrane sensor is based on the fact that PAHs show biomembrane activity [1]. Mixed monolayers of palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn- glicero-3-phosphocholin (POPC) and triolein (TO) in different molar ratio were used as sensing template and tested for interaction with PAHs. The interaction causes a disruption of the lipid monolayer organization, which is monitored by fast cyclic (CV) voltammetry. Interferences of sensing monolayer with naturally occuring organic matter were tested. Operationally sensor is developed for in-situ application using flow cell with three electrode system having chip based mercury microelectrode as a working electrode.
