Sažetak
The building of forest roads on forest soils of non-bearing and poor bearing capacity represents the problem both for designers and builders. The building of cheap, but at them same time high-quality road requires the use of the local stone material for its building. The improvement of characteristics of local material and achievement of standardised quality of built roads is achieved with various kinds of stabilisation, one of the way of the improvement of the soil bearing capacity.
Unitl now, in the Republic of Croatia various kinds of stabilisation have been used in building forest roads whose survey is presented here. They are: the mechanic stabilisation, the chemical stabilisation and the soil stabilisation by geosynthetics. Each of them has in a certain time period given a significant contribution to the increase of forest openness.
The constant desire for high-quality, technological simpler, ecologically acceptable and financially payable method brings new means for soil stabilisation in the world. One of the latest methods of the soil stabilisation in building forest, military, public and other roads has been done by PERMA-ZYME. PERMA-ZYME is the enzime of the organic origin very similar to proteins which acts like a catalyzer and his big molecular structures help in connection and interaction of molecules.
PERMA-ZYME has been used in Croatia for the first time in 1999 on public forest road 400 m long and 4,00 m wide in the area of Bjelolasica with significant traffic. The technology of performance and necessary technique have been described and the possibilities of the use of PERMA-ZYME have been indicated.
