Sažetak
The objective of our research is to evaluate epidemiological data in our region with respect to abomasal displacement and dilatation and apply different method of surgical fixation of greater omentum and abomasum to abdominal wall, than the technique described in original "Utrecht" method. From fall 1997. to summer 2006. we performed surgery on 87 cows with left displacement (LDA), and 4 cows with right displacement of abomasum (RDA). Surgical technique that we employed most resemble "Utrecht" method. Our technique differentiate because we omentopexy only point on abdominal wall and we use plastic stopper on the skin. Our method of fixating abomasum by omentopexy is fast, reliable and inexpensive. It is applicable both with LDA and RDA. Short recovery time post operation and possibility to perform surgery on owner site makes our method applicable in field veterinary practice.
