Sažetak
The morphology of freshly prepared, as well as of the aged cadmium dodecylbenzenesulphonate precipitates, showed the significants differences between the crystalline and liquid crystalline ones, as it was investigated by transmission-, and scanning electron microscopy at room temperature. Since the investigation at room temperature causes the evaporation of water, the spots of the remaining material from the liquid crystalline phase can indicate the shape and size of aggregates. The size of the liquid crystalline globular particles amounted 500-700 nm, both, for the aggregated and free particles in solutions
Besides, the size and shape of the globular liquid crystalline particles remain almost the same within the period from one day until several months. After several months the crystall nuclei agglomerate to a compact phase. It was shown that for the investigation of a lamelar liquid crystalline phase, the electron microscopy technique at room temperature could give useful information, if the physical parameters could be compared with some other techniques.
