Sažetak
Interpretation of the solubility of ionic surfactants in electrolyte mixtures was developed on the basis of ionic solubility, cmc and counterion binding and exchange. The experimental results with silver, calcium and lanthanum perfluorodecanoates were interpreted by this model. It is shown that effect of temperature on the solubility of surfactant salts cannot be interpreted simply from the slope in presentation of logarithm of equilibrium constant vs reciprocal thermodynamic temperature. Due to significant change in heat capacity the slope does not yield the correct value of enthalpy. The problem was solved by combining solubility measurements with calorimetric data. The enthalpy of barium dodecylsulfate dissolution was measured as a function of temperature. These data were combined with solubility experiments which resulted in heat capacity change and standard entropy and enthalpy at reference temperatures.
