Sažetak
In 7 year period out of 497 lymphoma patients, bone lesions were diagnosed in 16 (5 men, 11 women, age – range 21 to 80 years, median 57 years). In three newly diagnosed diffuse large B- cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients, and in one mantle cell lymphoma patient, primary lymphoma of the bone was diagnosed. In 12 patients bone lesions were discovered during the course of the disease. In all patients localized bone pain was the dominant symptom. Secondary bone lesions appeared in four indolent lymphoma, two DLBCL, one Burkitt like lymphoma, and four Hodgkin’s disease patients. One patient at first had indolent lymphoma that later progressed to DLBCL. Primary bone lymphoma were localized in femur, rib, and the backbone, while secondary lymphoma lesions in backbone, pelvis and humerus. Patients were treated with chemotherapy (COP-R, CHOP, CHOP-R, chlorambucil, and alemtuzumab for lymphoma, and ABVD, LVPP, BEACOP for Hodgkin’s disease). Nine patients were underwent to radiotherapy while six patients to myeloablative chemotherapy followed by peripheral blood stem cell transplantation. The median survival was 42 months, 8 patients died. We concluded that primary bone lesions of lymphoma are rare conditions. Correct diagnosis is essential since primary lymphoma of the bone has a relatively favorable prognosis.
