Sažetak
The International experiment of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) provenances was established in Drenovac, Croatia containing the 22 provenances from 13 European countries. The aim of the study was rapid detection of fungal species that cause needle deceases of Scots pine provenances. For these purpose, the needles of each Scots pine provenances were collected from the ground. The fragments of infected needles were used to isolate the DNA and to establish the culture of pathogenic fungi. The fungal DNA was isolated from infected needles and from the fungal culture. The PCR based diagistics was used for rapid fungal species detection. The internal transcribed spacer regions, ITS1-5.8S-ITS2, were amplified. The sequenced data were compared with GeneBank data. The results have shown that the infections of the needles were caused by following species of pathogenetic fungi: Laphodermium pinastri, Lophodermium seditiosum, Mycosphaerella pini, Cyclaneusma minus, Coleosporium sp. and Sphaeropsis sapinea.
