Sažetak
The structure of nuclei can be well described in independent particle models assuming movement of nucleons in nuclear mean field. But, some basic properties of nuclei such as nuclear binding energies cannot be reproduced without introduction of nucleon-nucleon correlations. The same phenomena are responsible for the existence of the nuclear states above Fermi level and appearance of large nucleon momenta in nuclei. The nature of these correlations has been the subject of experimental and theoretical research using different probes and reactions, and electromagnetically induced two-nucleon knockout reactions are considered a very powerful investigative tool. We report on investigations of short-range proton-proton correlations in two-proton knockout reaction induced by electron scattering on 12C nuclei in kinematics that suppresses other reactions capable to produce two protons in final state, such as final state interactions, delta production and two-meson exchange currents. A novel telescope of silicon detectors for backward proton detection has been developed and employed with the two high-resolution magnetic spectrometers of A1collaboration at MAMI in triple coincidence measurement of 12C(e, e’pp)10Be reaction, and the overall resolution of the system allows clear identification of the states in the residual nucleus.
