Sažetak
The quality of a material selected for the reference hardness block as well as heat treatment applied to the block to get uniform microstructure and stable hardness must be very strict and at very high level since the quality of the reference hardness block will influence on the measurement uncertainty of the hardness testing machine calibration and hardness measurement. Investigation of the reference hardness block quality was carried out on one block which is in the property of the Laboratory for Testing Mechanical Properties of Materials. Experimental investigation consisted of chemical analysis of the material of the reference hardness block, surface and cross sectional area analysis, metallographic analysis of the reference hardness block surface and roughness analysis. Certain failures have been noted and conclusion have been brought.
