Sažetak
In this paper, we analyze the originality of agricultural and food products, which are produced in the area of Mediterrean Europe, and the properties of food prepared from Mediterrean food. Unlike continental diet based on calory food and animal fat, the Mediterrean diet is characterized by semi vegeterain diet. Foods which are based on the Mediterrean diet (fish and other seafood, red wine, olive oil, fruits, vegetables) are rich in a variety of protective substances and they can be prosper in Mediterrean ecosystems.
