Sažetak
School medicine as a part of the field of public health has some particularities as a discipline due to the medical problems that physicians deal with on everyday basis, special approach to those problems and the population of its concern. When providing the health care in the context of the school medicine and its population the legal framework background can also play an important role. Healthcare delivery in the framework of the school medicine surpasses the usual boundaries of classical medical model and is closely linked with education and teaching. Therefore, when we talk about ethical problems in the field of school medicine they have certain similarities with the ethics problems that can occur in other medical disciplines especially in the fields of primary care or public health. However, ethical problems in the practice of school medicine have also their particularities which can bring complexity to the everyday work of a school medicine physician. In this work a brief overview of the legal frameworks connected with the rights and protection of children and young people is given, together with the ethical issues that may arise in the everyday work of a school medicine physician in Croatia in connection to the implementation of these legal frameworks.
