Sažetak
Although new treatments for neuromuscular diseases are being developed, the palliative care approach to the care of neuromuscular patient is outlined and the role of the multidisciplinary team emphasized. Therefore a palliative care approach to the care of the neuromuscular patients and their family should be at the centre of good clinical practice. The neuromuscular disease with the most demanding and challenging palliative care is probably motorn neuron disesase. The term motor neuron disease covers a range of conditions in which the motor neuron cell bears the brunt of the disease process. The most severe complications of neuromuscular diseases are progressive muscle weaknes, respiratory failure and dysphagia, but the palliative care should be focused on speech and language therapy, emotional, spiritual and social aspects of the disease also. Such comprehensive palliative care should be focused on patient and all caregivers .
