Sažetak
Human resource development (HRD) is the framework for helping employees develop their personal and organizational skills, knowledge, and abilities. It includes such opportunities as employee training, employee career development, performance management and development, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, key employee identification, tuition assistance, organization development... Education and training will develop the individual to become a professional in the future. HRD can be formal (classroom training, college course, organizational planned change effort), or informal (employee coaching by a manager). Nuclear engineering is the branch of engineering concerned with the application of the fission as well as the fusion of atomic nuclei and/or the application of other sub-atomic physics, based on the principles of nuclear physics. In the sub-field of nuclear fission, it particularly includes the interaction and maintenance of systems and components like nuclear reactors, nuclear power plants and/or nuclear weapons. The field also includes the study of medical and other applications of radiation, nuclear safety, heat/thermodynamics transport, nuclear fuel and/or other related technology, and the problems of nuclear proliferation. In presentation were emphasized field of application of nuclear fission, and formal HRD (university). Career opportunities for professionals in nuclear engineering in Croatia were presented for following institutions and companies: Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, Rudjer Boskovic Institute, Institute for Nuclear Technology (INETEC), Energy Institute Hrvoje Pozar, Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health, ENCONET International d.o.o., State Office for Radiological and Nuclear Safety, APO d.o.o. and Krsko NPP.
