Sažetak
The paper connects the Korčula sword-dances - the moreška and the kumpanija - with the almost abandoned custom of biranje kralja, or choosing the king. Comparison of international data helps in understanding better the forgotten totality of the koleda custom of which choosing the king was only one component, and that can lead us to the new interpretations of the present state of "chivalry games".
