Sažetak
Propagation of high-power jamming attacks aimed at exploiting physical-layer vulnerabilities and deteriorating the quality of legitimate signals can be limited with specialized equipment, such as optical limiting amplifiers, optical fuses or power equalizers implemented as arrays of variable optical attenuators. In this work, we investigate the extra costs necessary for achieving a desired level of protection against these attacks. We show that this cost can be significantly reduced by using our proposed preventive network planning approach with sparse power equalization placement.
