Sažetak
During the epidemic of upper respiratory airway infection, 52 young rowers were examined and compared with two elderly groups of rowers. Using the set of anthropometrical values together with some clinical and laboratory data it was possible to establish their current physical condition, to determine their anthropometrical status during growth and development and to elaborate high incidence of respiratory hypersensitivity. Considering analyzed data young athletes have good anthropometrical predisposition for rowing. Exception is weight lower than recommended. Respiratory infections and hypersensitivity could be prevented by isolating sick athlete, proper diet and performing hygienic measures in gym to lower the dust concentration.
