Sažetak
The paper defines additional standards which would enable better positioning of private accommodation in the tourist market through creating and preserving competitive advantages. Results are based on the opinion of private accommodation holders and representatives of DMO (destination management). Research was carried out using the survey method, on a representative sample of 208 private renters and 125 holders of DMO in Kvarner. Standards, as a set of indicators for measuring the quality of market aspects of facilities owned by the citizens, contain basic framework and conductive system for assessing the quality of the listed facilities and their equipment and services as upgrades to the existing system of evaluating the quality of accommodation services in public facilities. The basic structure of the Kvarner Family standard, is based on ten criteria and the additional features of objects that are, by its structure and content, often different and marked by the particularities of the characteristics of their market position.
