Sažetak
Monitoring of manganese in total suspended particulate matter (TSPM) was conducted in Zagreb from 1971 to 2005 at three measuring sites located in the city centre and in the northern and western parts of the city. Monitoring of manganese in PM10 particles started in 1999 in the northern part of the city. Monitoring of manganese in PM2.5 and PM1 started this year at the same measuring site. The paper presents the trends of annual mean values for manganese concentrations in TSPM and PM10 particles, as well as the first results of manganese measurements in PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 particle fractions in the city of Zagreb. Annual mean concentrations of manganese in TSPM and in PM10 particles did not have a marked trend, but showed minor variations over the whole measurement period. Data of manganese measurements in TSPM and PM10 particles showed that 66.7-86.2 % of manganese was found in PM10 particles compared to manganese in TSPM. Measurements performed in PM2.5 and PM1 particles showed that, compared to manganese in PM10, 40.7 % of manganese was found in PM2.5 particles and 31.6 % in PM1 particles.
