Sažetak
Rural tourism as a form of tourism in rural areas, which with its natural and cultural resources is the basis for quality development of tourism, began to develop in Croatia in recent times, and it was given less importance to him than to maritime tourism. In order to create comprehensive development of rural tourism this article provides an overview of current situation of rural tourism in Croatia. The intention was to make a contribution to the further study of rural tourism in Croatia, creating a base which could serve as a starting point for all future research of this topic/subject. Also, this paper has the aim to draw further attention to the importance of rural tourism as one of the key components of sustainable development of Croatia.
