Sažetak
Compounds that contain pyridine-like motifs are quite often architectural parts of supramolecular polymers. Moreover, the strength of strong hydrogen bonds like O-H•••N can be attenuated of enhanced, depending on their arrangement, by the presence of a weak secondary interactions among interactive groups. An attractive feature of ethynylpyridines lies in the presence of segments capable of forming weak hydrogen bonds of type ≡C- H•••A, where A is some hydrogen bond acceptor. These moieties can form more than just some secondary electrostatic interaction as it has been seen in already investigated at most popular urea- or uracil-based supramolecular polymers. Since the potential of ethynylpyridines in the construction of supramolecular polymers is absolutely unexplored, the first step is characterization of hydrogen bonds that mentioned compounds can form. A particular interest is dedicated to weak hydrogen bonds that are rarely characterized in the literature at the room temperature and in the solution. The present investigation concerns the determination of weak hydrogen bonds of mono- and disubstituetd ethynylpyridines with trimethylphosphate in tetrachloroethene by the high-dilution metod using IR spectroscopy. Their acidity is going to be concernd with the acidity of the same group of ethynylbenzene. In this respect, the influence of the nitrogen atom on the acidity of groups is going to be discussed.
