Sažetak
The purpose of the study was to evaluate safety and immunogenicity of HVT vaccine applied by ultrasonic nebulization to newly hatched chickens. Aerosol device SONOVAC 095 creat aerosol of HVT water-suspension, 95% particles rang 2-5 microns in diameter. One hundred chickens at once are exposed to vaccine aerosol for 30 seconds. Vaccinetd chickens remaind in the hatchery for 24 hours and, placed in two separate parts in the same poultry house for 20 weeks. There was no clinical reaction to given HVT in chickens expose to aerosol. Vaccinated leyers did not show any negative vaccinal reaction. In layers vaccinated by nebulization mortality rate during 20 weeks was 3.7%, and in comparative parenterally vaccinated group 6.06%. The used HVT vaccine was safe and immunogenic. The small particle of aerosol did not cause any negative vaccinal reaction. Compared to parentheral vaccination, mortality rate was much lower, probably because there was no stress reactkion caused by injection.
