Sažetak
Photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) is based on the detection of acoustic waves generated by the absorption of optical radiation and subsequent radiationless deactivation. Extensive studies of PAHs of solid and powdered samples have shown that the PA signal is affected by light scattering, interstitial gas expansion, vaporization and desorption effects and particle sizes. Though presently having limited value as a tool for routine quantitative analyses, this technique can be very useful for investigation of physico-chemical processes on solid surfaces. PA samples of some environmentally important pollutants adsoprbed onto solid carriers are also discussed.
