Sažetak
The total deformation of the thin-walled Z-section beam, laterally restrained by trapezoidal sheeting for gravity load, can be divided in two parts: in-plane banding deformation and torsional deformation, including lateral bending due to cross-sectional distortion.In this respect, the free flange of the beam is modelled as beam on elastic foundation of stiffness K with the cross-section composed of a free flange and a part of the web height (1/6 of web height is taken according to Eurocode 3).The lateral elastic restraint provided to the free flange by the sheeting is modelled as the lateral spring for the free flange of a beam.The lateral stiffness per unit length of beam was determined by model testing for the thin-walled Z-section beam 200/60/5/2 restrained with trapezoidal sheeting T 53/162.5/1.
