Sažetak
At the beginning of 2007 the Counsel for neurological patients was established at the Department of Neurology of the Zagreb University Hospital Centre. Initiation of this project was encouraged by medical employees with the aim to improve the quality of life of neurological patients, and with the aim to create better relation among patients, family and medical staff. Every day more and more patients indicate deficiency of communication among patients and medical staff, which has bad consequence on awareness and managing, what is certainly a problem, since patients with chronic illnesses are involved (epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, etc.). From that cognition arised a necessity for establishing the Counsel, which would provide to all patients and members of their families easy way to get all indispensable answers related to their illness, rehabilitation and way of life. The team of specialists and medical staff will attempt to help the patients in acceptance of their illness, and allow successful reintegration in their living and working environment. The Counsel works every Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in the Library of the Department of Neurology. Every first Monday in the month is dedicated to epilepsy. For patients living out of district of Zagreb, unmovable or difficult movable patients, there is an opened phone line: +3851-238-8176, on which they can contact the Counsel every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
