Sažetak
This paper presents a complex noise reduction case study of a new cooling system designed for the biggest hospital complex in Croatia. In the first part of the study, computational simulations have been made in order to assess the noise levels produced by the cooling towers. Based on the results, noise abatement techniques were proposed, including a noise barrier. In the second part, noise and vibration measurements were carried out on completed system. The measurements have shown unexpected high level of low-frequency noise, which was also confirmed by complains of the residents who live in the vicinity. Further measures were planned and implemented, including elastic decoupling and additional sound insulation. Final measurements showed that the required noise level reduction has been achieved.
