Sažetak
Responding to the call of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences a research project was carried out for the development of a new method for preparing „radon map”. Within the frame of the Romanian-Hungarian-Croatian cooperation radon concentrations were estimated in buildings with various structures by a new mathematical model based on the measured radon concentration from the underlying soil close to the future or existing buildings. This presentation discusses the results of the inside and outdoor gamma dose measurements which were measured in addition to radon concentrations. Four different TL detector (TLD-100H, TLD-700, GR-200A, Al2O3:C) and RPL dosimeters were used for measuring the external gamma dose. 15 locations were selected in two settlements. Dosimeters were placed outside and inside the buildings. The mean values of the environmental gamma dose outside and inside on all locations were 0.24 mSv±8%. The following conclusions were drawn from the solid state dosimetry measurements: There was no systematic difference between the gamma dose values measured with TLDs or RPLDs. There was no significant difference (larger than the measurement uncertainty) between the environmental doses on the 15 outdoor locations. The standard deviation of 9% satisfies the requirements of the International Standard IEC:61066:2006. There was no difference between the outdoor and inside measured gamma doses on all locations indicating that the building materials do not influence the environmental gamma background dose. The measured gamma doses in this study (0.24-0.27 mSv) correspond to the natural environmental gamma radiation during the monitoring period (127 days).
