Sažetak
Defining the term of management, its role and importance at all levels of maritime activities, it describes the management and executive management, its organizational functioning, cohesion and importance, from top management to the executive management of individual organizational units. The importance of leadership is particularly pronounced in the management of the organizational structure of maritime enterprise, which is prevalent in almost all maritime countries. To clear the entire conduct of maritime companies (shipping and ports), it is necessary to clarify the role of individual managers, starting from the lower hierarchical level within the maritime business, its organizational structure, systems and methods of operation in the shipping market, with the aim of realization of its core business sales use of its port infrastructure and superstructure. Starting from the obligation to constantly direct its activities towards the improvement of the port area, the mission of the Port of Ploce Authority of is to make all the necessary conditions for the development of the Port of Ploce into a competitive location, which will satisfy all port users regarding the speed, quality, reliability, safety, efficiency and productivity of services provided in the port. A vision of management is to have well-organized port in technical-technological terms, with adequate and efficient facilities, favourable investment climate for sustainable development of the port.
