Sažetak
To successfully perform their goals organizations need to have support and commitment of their employees. However, attraction and retaining of highly qualified, committed and motivated people with suitable skills and knowledge, is one of the most demanding request that stand in front of the today’s organizations. So, organizations have to develop such motivation systems that will enable further development of all employees and use of their full potential in achieving organizational goals. However, organizations have to be aware that wages and other direct inputs given to the employee only make the basis for motivational system, and that the large part of the motivational system depends on the characteristics of work design. So the aim of this paper is to present basic framework for understanding how work design can affect employee performance, especially motivation, and consequently other work related outcomes. Also, according to recent trends in global business and organizational design, the paper reviews possibilities for further development of motivational aspects in work design.
