Sažetak
Trametes versicolor is a white-rot fungus that produces three ligninolytic enzymes, laccase, lignin-peroxidase and manganese-peroxidase [1]. Laccases (EC 1.10.3.2, p-diphenol: dioxygen oxidoreductases) are multi-copper oxidases that catalyze oxidation of substrates by electron transfer and simultaneous reduction of oxygen to water [2]. Phenolic compounds can be found in numerous industrial wastewaters and its removal is an important issue, since lots of them are toxic. In this paper, Trametes versicolor was grown in a submerged culture with the aim of laccase production. Once produced, laccase was used as a catalyst in the oxidation of phenol, catechol and coniferyl alcohol without any purification and concentration steps [3]. The experiments were carried out in a batch reactor and conversion of laccase-catalyzed oxidation of phenol, catechol and coniferyl alcohol was obtained. The concentration of the compound in question was determinated with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
