Sažetak
This work was carried out in order to research the effects of low-pressure plasma on changes of hydrophilic properties of textile cellulose material, using O2 and Ar gases. Single-thread yarn of cotton, lyocell and modal fibres approximately equally fineness have been used with the purpose of obtaining fabrics defined characteristics. For each type of fibre the three fabrics sample of different linear density were woven. The actual research focused on the optimization of the plasma process parameters and determination the optimal treatment conditions, as well as determining the physical-chemical changes in the fibres surface. The influence of plasma on the material properties was also investigated. The observed plasma effects on the fiber surface indicate the increasing of roughness and the specific surface fibers area. These changes improve the ability of water molecules absorption and hydrophilicity of material becomes better. The surface changes were analyzed using modern SEM microscopy technique. Wettability of plasma treated samples were performed using vertical and drop test. The obtained results indicate that the plasma treatment certainly contributes to the improvement of hydrophilic properties of testing samples, without negative impact on their mechanical properties.
