Sažetak
This paper presents a level of understanding and using Balanced Scorecard in a Croatian industrial companies, generation and maturity of implemented and willingness to introduce second or third generation of Balanced Scorecard. This is important because a contemporary business conditions in extremely turbulent environment with frequent technological changes require constantly monitoring of all activities with emphasis on a control of achieving a strategic goals. Daily monitoring of financial but immaterial assets is also necessary and for this purpose Balanced Scorecard is a useful tool of strategic management because it provides recording, describing, measuring and comparing of the key performance indicators. Balanced Scorecard provides a framework to translate strategy into operational activities because it complements financial measures of past performance with measures of the drivers for the future performance through objectives derived from company's vision, mission and values. In this paper will be given theoretical framework for interpretation and understanding findings provided by empiric research which has been conducted on defined sample of 300 Croatian industrial companies. Understanding of Balanced Scorecard's framework and capabilities at first and then current rating, provide introduction of the best practice of Balanced Scorecard as a tool of strategic management in a Croatian industrial companies.
