Sažetak
In this work two different groups of dry toner prints were recycled by means of laboratory deinking flotation. The aim of the work was to investigate the possibility of using office print-outs as an alternative fibre source in the production of white top linerboards. The deinking flotation efficiency was evaluated by calculating the flotation yield, as well as by measuring the optical characteristics of the deinked handsheets. In addition, one of the food contact suitability parameters, the fastness of fluorescent whitened papers (bleed fastness) was determined. The main results show that deinking flotation was efficient in increasing brightness and whiteness values of recycled handsheets in a range of 7-14% and 4-11%, respectively. Moreover, deinking flotation removed ink particles from the recycled pulp in a range of 72-84%. Based on the obtained results only the original paper sample showed very severe bleeding of fluorescent whitening agents while the recycled handsheets showed no bleeding at all.
