Sažetak
Postexposure protection of TBEV infection after tick-bite in endemic areas relies on a timely immunisation with TBE imuno globulin, combined with initial dose of vaccine. The immuno globulin is very costly product in many countries, and it is not normally available.Consequently , a number of persons are left unprotected following possible contamination by TBE -virus infected tick. We atempted to induce rapid and higjh -titred antibody responses to TBE vaccine using an abbreviated bilateral schedule of application. The approach, which we propose to call "the 2-1 schedule" implies bilateral application of two doses of vaccine into the deltoid muscles on day 0 and an additional dose on day 7. Thus different lymph regions are stimulated and powerful antigenic impulse is given at the start of immunisation.
