Sažetak
Metabolic snydome (MS) is a constellation of interrrelated abnormalities that increase the risk for the developement of cerebrovascular disease. The aim of this study was to analyze a group of symptomatic and asymptomatic patients with severe occlusive disease of extracranial internal carotid artery (ICA) and presence of MS in these patients. The combination of hypertension and atherogenic dislipidemia was the most freyuent risk factor.Focusing on the most prominent risk factors, which are modifiable, and treating them is the most effective way to prevent stroke.
