Sažetak
As there are no data on organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) distribution in the ambient air in Croatia we started an investigation of the occurrence and distribution of OCPs and PCBs in air. This paper presents an analysis of OCPs and PCBs in the ambient air collected at two different sampling points in Zagreb, the capital and the major industrial center of Croatia. Sampling points (Jakuševec as an area near a landfill and Ksaverska c. in residential, not industrialized part of the city) differed with respect to possible sources of OCPs and PCBs pollution. Comparison of OCPs and PCBs levels between locations reflected slightly higher levels at Jakuševec than at Ksaverska c. Exceptions were p,p'-DDE and p,p'-DDT. In comparison with the literature data the OCPs and PCBs levels in the ambient air collected in Zagreb were at the lower end of published data range.
