Sažetak
For the last few decades the phenomenon of metaphor has been perceived within the framework of cognitive linguistics not merely as a language ornament, but as a way of structuring our thoughts. This new insight into language and thought has revitalized the Sapir-Whorf’s hypothesis of thought determined and shaped by language. Metaphors themselves are interactive, creating a system of mutual relations, among which diversification appears to be the most challenging one. Namely, the corpus analysis of shared target but different source domains, presented in this paper, will show possibilities of different conceptualization of basically identical messages – a method identified or even proposed by some scholars as ideologically grounded way of reshaping our reality.
