Sažetak
The aim of this research was to explore presence of Dirofilaria microfilariae in Valpovo area. Until now informations about presence of dirofilariosis in that area are not noted, maybe because dirofilariosis really wasn`t there or it was ignored because there were not clinical signs. According to the results of our research it is clear that dirofilariosis is present in eastern Croatia but good thing is that spread on the infection is not represented in the extent as in town of Vinkovci for example, also in Slavonia region. Reason for that are probably bigger financial abilities of the local administration in mosquito control. But no mater the infection spread is not that serious in Valpovo area it is necessary to atempt some control measures to prevent further expansion.
