Sažetak
Just as cognitive organism knows its way in grasping so does it also navigate the living world within its reach in a skillful way that does not require conscious guidance. It is the sort of hand's emancipation in 'doing without thinking' that legitimizes the claim that 'making comes before matching'. The paper affirms the existence of the 'corporeal competence', elements of which are: a) motor attention, b) motor guesswork, c) practical understanding, and d) (MI) manual intelligence. In a more immediate way the paper aims at showing that the performative power of human hands is capacitated to do more than the thinking mind can possibly do. A more general consequence of the sort of discussion is to help to define the place of the hand in the triad: mind-body-world.
