Sažetak
Based on the ergonomic analysis of the work at toll booths done by the toll collection attendants of the Croatian Motorways, numerous drawbacks of tollbooth designs have been observed, as well as the respective problems that affect the safety and comfort of the employees. Regarding humanization of the workplace, the biggest ergonomic drawback certainly includes: wrong sitting position and lateral bending of the attendant. The compulsory and harmful working position of the attendant directly results in greater burden on the spine, which in turn results in a greater number of attendants who require even professional medical assistance regarding backache. Due to different heights of vehicles, the attendant has to lean more or less through the tollbooth window toward the driver. Since this is an activity which affects most the peak load of the operational comfort, the studies have been carried out regarding ergonomic assessment of the work of the attendants in their interrelation with the service users who use three reference road vehicles: low, mid-high and high vehicles.
