Sažetak
There are numerous studies dealing with the leakage of the pesticides from the soils into the ground water. Removal of pesticides from our water sources is inevitable because pesticides present a potential risk for the health of the consumers. The aim of this study is to remove pentachlorophenol and differently substituted triazine compounds: terbuthylazine, ametryn and hydroxyatrazine from water by use of five commercially available reverse osmosis membranes of defined porous structure. Experiments were done in model solutions of pesticides in deionised water. The adsorption of the pesticides on the membranes and their effect on membrane permeate flux has been examined. Terbuthylazine irreversibly adsorbed on XLE, ULP and ESPA-1 membranes and significantly reduced their flux. LFC-3 and CPA-3 membranes, which were resistant to terbuthylazine adsorption (in terms of constant flux), removed the pesticides from water with the levels of efficiencies ranging from 96.0 % up to 99.8 % and are recommended for the pesticides removal in any further large scale applications.
